Hradec Kralove Region
The Hradec Kralove Region encompasses the districts of Hradec Kralove, Jicin, Nachod, Rychnov nad Kneznou and Trutnov. Its area is 4 758 km2; (6 % of the total area of the Czech Republic). The density of population is 116 inhabitants per square kilometre.
The neighbouring regions are those of Liberec, Central Bohemia and Pardubice. To the north it borders Poland, and the 160-kilometre-long common frontier offers five border crossings, among which the one in Nachod also allows freight transport.

Liberec Region

The Liberec Region is located in the north of the Czech Republic and covers four districts - Liberec, Jablonec nad Nisou, Semily and Ceska Lipa. The 3 163 km2; of the area represents 4 % of the Czech Republic’s territory. The neighbouring regions are those of Central Bohemia, Usti nad Labem and Hradec Kralove.
Almost the whole Region is mountainous, encompassing the north of the Czech Valley, the Jizerske Mountains, the western Krkonose Mountains and the eastern part of the Luzicke Mountains. The Liberec Region borders Germany (20 km) and Poland (130 km).

Pardubice Region
The Pardubice Region encompasses the districts of Pardubice, Chrudim, Usti nad Orlici and Svitavy. Its area is 4 519 km2; (5.7 % of the Czech Republic). The neighbouring regions are those of Hradec Kralove, Central Bohemia, Olomouc, Brno and Vysocina Region. In the northeast this Region borders Poland.
